The building enjoys the old heritage architecture of Kashmir. With its covered balcony (dub), jali work (Wooden Lattice), Khatam Band (Wooden Engraved Ceiling), gash daer (Windows of Light), the cottage gives real, authentic Kashmiri experience. It is fully carpeted and furniture is picked and selected by the owners over the years. There are walnut chests, divans, teak-wood pieces and Tibetan Choksi. The pieces of artifacts are collected on the hosts’ travellings.
The hosts are life long residents of the town and they reside on the premises. They share local history, guide you on your tours, shopping, arrange for your local activities etc. The experience of staying in a Kashmiri home makes it very special and unique.
